End of Watch: October 19, 2016

Deputy Jack Lanceson Hopkins served the citizens of Modoc County with the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office. On October 19, 2016 Deputy Jack Hopkins was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance.

As Deputy Hopkins arrived on scene, he was immediately ambushed by the suspect who was lying in wait. The suspect shot Deputy Hopkins through the windshield of his patrol car before he could exit his patrol car.

Deputy Hopkins is survived by his parents and siblings. Deputy Hopkins’ brother is currently a police officer.
